A Wellington man died and two more people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Alexandria Friday.
Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown said J.D. Hudson, 78, of Wellington was pronounced dead at Regional Medical Center at 11:35 a.m. Friday. Brown said Hudson died from blunt force trauma.
According to a report from Trooper Curtis Summerville, public information officer for the Alabama Department of Public Safety, Gerald Love, 78, of Alexandria, and Kevin Hudson, 50, of Wellington, were injured in the crash and taken to RMC for treatment.
Summerville said the crash occurred at approximately 10 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 431 and Gladden Lane East. J.D. Hudson was the passenger of a 1996 maroon Buick while Kevin Hudson was the driver. The Buick collided head-on into the right side of a white, 1995 Chevrolet pick-up truck driven by Love.
Alabama State Troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash, Summerville said.
